Buying
My suggestion is to get pre-qualified for your mortgage first. I feel it is important to know how much home you can afford and if the payment will fit your budget. You can contact your local bank or try one of the Mortgage Lenders listed on the Mortgage Information page.
The next step would be to consider what features and benefits you are looking for in your new home. Several things to consider would be what your home definitely should have to accommodate your lifestyle, i.e. one story or two story, big yard or small yard, garage or no garage and how many bedrooms and bathrooms. Several good places you might want to look to see the different style of homes and prices would be searching on the web though the MLS or local home magazines.
Location is always important in choosing a home. Would you want your home to be a within a short commute to your work or is a little longer commute okay? Are schools, access to shopping or local transportation to be considered in your neighborhood choice? Maybe you like the appeal of a certain neighborhood you have seen while driving around. All these things and more come in to play when deciding on where you would like to live.
